General Dress Code for bowling

Clothing: Whenever possible the dress code will be speci in our web events diary, club fixtures or team sheets. As a general rule this will be titled either GREYS or WHITES and refers to the colour of the bottom half (eg. Tailored trousers, shorts or skirts). However if you are playing in a national competition and you wish to wear shorts they must be Bowls England shorts. Matches: If you are playing in a club match against another club then the specified bottom half colour will be accompanied with the wearing of the official club shirt.  Wearing of the Club shirts will also be required in County and National Competitions. Internal Competitions & Roll UPS: If you are playing an internal club competition (other than when specified) or having a roll up or practice session, then you will be expected to wear Grey bottoms and a white bowls/polo shirt. Weather overwear: In the case of adverse weather, White rainwear is allowed over your uniform wear, as is a White or Club coloured warm over jacket.

As a general guide it is usually Greys during the week and Whites at weekends, but in some competition finals and internal club events & finals this may differ. If in doubt always check before your match and if still unsure check with the club captain’s. Note: only the club or match captain’s can authorise any exception. These rules are relaxed for non members during the period of trying out bowls, but will apply to anyone of these bowlers as soon as they sign up to abowls membership.

Attaching Neves badge to club shirt

You may also like to use Sellotape Velcro stickers, particularly if you have more than one club shirt and only one Neves badge. Stick on the four corners with the female soft fluffy side on the shirt and the male prickly side on the Badge.
