Clothing Guide – All Members, visitors and beginners must comply with the Footwear requirements (see below). However, we recommend the playing attire for beginners should be simple and comfortable clothing that you can move freely in, such as [Tops]: a Polo style plain white shirt/Tee shirt and [Bottoms]: Dark plain Trousers/Shorts (not Cargo style) and skirts. Prior to becoming a member, it will be made clear to you the dress code requirements for Competitions, which are also stated in the members area of this Web site “Playing the Game”. If you are unsure please ask the Captain or an established club member.

All manufacturers of bowls footwear comply with this standard, however you can purchase sports trainer style footwear (as shown above) that is acceptable, but please check with your bowls club before using a non-specific sports shoe.

CHOOSING YOUR BOWLS – Choosing what bowls to use is very difficult a decision to make and shouldn’t be rushed when you first start bowling. However before you decide the type of drawing curve (Bias) or colour preference, the most important aspect of choice is finding the right size and grip for your hand. If you need help contact our commercial partner Taylor Bowls by clicking on the TAYLOR LOGO above or view the Taylor Video’s below or ask one of your club coaches who will be only too pleased to help you in making the right decision.
