Newport Pagnell went into the final of the Bletchley and District Mixed League against Chandos Park at Linslade recently, and emerged as very impressive winners.
In the run-up to the final, various local clubs fielded four teams of three bowlers, playing games through July and August.
Newport Pagnell won the competition and came home the victors after a resounding 94-50 win – a victory that turned the table on last year’s result when Chandos Park beat Newport Pagnell to take the trophy.
The following day, Newport Pagnell took to the green again, this time in the final of the Bletchley and District Men’s League at Chandos Park Bowls Club in Buckingham – a competition involving five teams of triples.
They were victorious for a second time in two days, beating Bletchley Town in an emphatic 94-68 victory. Newport Pagnell won the competition for the first time since 2021, thereby extending Bletchley’s 20-year wait to take the trophy back to their silverware cabinet
