The longest day was the date for our Annual fun day, which was a roaring success and very warm, but that kept Alan, the barman very happy.

Thanks go to Richard for organising the day and of course to the team in the background; Lesley, Jacqui, John, Gary and Val for providing the food, drink, cakes and generally making sure that the day went smoothly.

Pictured below are the overall winners for the days various competitions, including  Blind fold bowling, backwards through your legs and other variations on bowls, Penny, David and Tony. Congratulations to all three of you.

On Saturday 31st August, eight of our Junior Members took part in our annual Academy Tournament at the Club.

Each child earned points across a series of 20 minute long skills-based tests.

Trophies were awarded for the highest score in each age group – big congratulations to Johnathan and Jayden for their great performances on the day.

The award for having the best overall score of the whole season went to Elsie, one of our youngest members.

We’re really proud that the Mayor of Newport Pagnell, Paul, presented the prizes – another recognition that bowls is an important sport for youngsters in the town.

The bowling season is almost over now – but if you know someone aged 8 to 18 who’d like to give it a go next year please get in touch.
